Palm Sunday (April 13th<\/sup>) Walk-a-thon<\/b><\/p>\n Priec\u012bgas p\u0113das\u2014Happy Feet<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n Raising money for shoes for kids in Kurzeme.<\/b><\/p>\n Unfortunately, children\u2019s shoes are still a problem for poor families in Latvia, especially in rural areas.\u00a0 The Latvian Church in America Youth section (LELBA Jaunatnes nozare) has invited congregations in Canada and the United States to help by organizing fundraisers\u2014Walk-a-thons.<\/p>\n The money will be used to buy shoes and socks for kids\u2014also orthopedic and other special, hard to obtain (in Latvia) footware for adults.\u00a0 This summer the head of the LELBA Youth section, Rev.
