The readers of Scripture are former congregation presidents, Andrejs Z\u0101melis and J\u0101nis Atvars, as well as J\u0101nis \u0160ulcs, our president now. He, along with Juris Cilnis, sing the hymns&#8211;which you can sing along by downloading the dziesmu lapi\u0146a attached to this letter. Paldies, thank-you&#8211;to all of them! And,as ever and as always, paldies to Pauls Zommers, Andrejs Zommers and \u0112riks Raisters&#8211;our video team.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>When we made the video the smoke that is blanketing our city now hadn\u2019t yet become so bad as it is now, when going outside is a health risk. As unpleasant as it is for us in the city&#8211;the smoke is a constant reminder that there are people, many, many people, who have lost everything in the wildfires all up and down the West Coast.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Dr. Rita S\u0113ja, the president of our Oregon congregation has been told to prepare to evacuate her home on short notice.
