The concert opens with a rare Canadian performance of the <b>Latvian composer Ugis Praulins\u2019 <i>Missa Rigensis<\/i><\/b>, an a cappella work written in the spirit of the great Renaissance masses and yet completely fresh, unique and riveting in its language. This mass was written for the great Riga Dom Boys\u2019 Choir and premiered at Easter 2003 in the vast acoustic of Riga\u2019s medieval cathedral.<\/p>\n<p>Phoenix will then be joined by organist Roy Campbell and the Shaughnessy Heights United Church Choir for Faur\u00e9\u2019s exquisitely intimate and serenely beautiful Requiem.
